Q: How Can I Participate in USDU's Ecosystem?

Q: What Sets USDU Apart from Competitors?

Unlike many global stablecoins, USDU is specifically registered with the UAE Central Bank and regulated by ADGM, making it the only compliant option for certain regulated digital asset settlements within the UAE's legal framework.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with USDU?

Risks include regulatory changes, potential liquidity fluctuations in the reserve banks, and the counterparty risk of the issuer. These are managed through strict compliance with UAE's PTSR framework and transparent on-chain proof-of-reserves.

What is USDU?

USDU is a regulated, USD-backed stablecoin issued by Universal Digital Intl Limited. It is designed to provide a secure and compliant digital representation of the U.S. Dollar for institutional-grade settlement, particularly within the United Arab Emirates (UAE) financial ecosystem. Each token is pegged 1:1 to the US dollar, supported by liquid reserves held in regulated UAE banks.

How Does USDU Work?

USDU operates as an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain and an SPL token on Solana. It maintains its stability through a 1:1 backing of physical U.S. dollar reserves and short-duration U.S. Treasury instruments. The issuance and redemption process is restricted to KYC-verified institutional participants, while on-chain proof-of-reserves data provides transparency, allowing any user to verify that the supply is fully collateralized.

What Makes USDU Unique?

USDU is the first foreign payment token to receive official registration from the Central Bank of the UAE under the Payment Token Services Regulation (PTSR). Unlike many unregulated stablecoins, USDU is purpose-built for institutional workflows, offering a compliant rail for digital asset and derivatives trading. It also features unique 'yield-bearing' properties in some iterations (via the Unitas Protocol) and provides regulated conversion rails between the UAE Dirham (AED) and USD.

Who Are the Founders of USDU?

USDU was launched by Universal Digital Intl Limited, a firm regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). Key leadership includes Juha Viitala, who serves as the Senior Executive Officer (SEO). The team consists of experts with extensive backgrounds in global fintech, blockchain infrastructure, and regulatory compliance within the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
