What is Medicalchain (MTN)?

Medicalchain (MTN) is a decentralized platform built on blockchain technology designed to securely store and manage electronic health records (EHRs). Its mission is to empower patients by giving them full ownership and control over their medical data, ensuring a 'single version of truth' that can be accessed globally by authorized healthcare providers.

How Does Medicalchain Work?

The project utilizes a dual-blockchain structure, often employing a permissioned ledger (like Hyperledger Fabric) for data storage and a public ledger (Ethereum) for the MTN utility token. Patients grant time-limited access to their records via smart contracts, allowing doctors, hospitals, and insurers to view or update data only with explicit user permission.

What Makes Medicalchain Unique?

Medicalchain stands out by integrating a telemedicine platform directly with the health record system, allowing users to consult with doctors online while sharing their records instantly. It also supports a marketplace where users can choose to share their anonymized data with pharmaceutical researchers in exchange for MTN tokens.

Who Are the Founders of Medicalchain?

The project was founded by Dr. Abdullah Albeyatti and Mo Tayeb. Dr. Albeyatti is a graduate of Imperial College London with extensive experience as a surgical trainee in the UK's NHS, while Mo Tayeb is an experienced technology entrepreneur with an MBA from the University of Oxford and a background in e-commerce and mobile payments.
