The protocol is built using audited smart contract standards; however, as with all DeFi platforms, users should verify if independent audits have been completed and remain aware of the risks inherent in smart contract interactions.

What is OpenPerps?

OpenPerps is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol focused on perpetual futures trading. It aims to provide a transparent, permissionless environment where users can speculate on the price movements of various assets with leverage. The project mission is to democratize access to advanced financial derivatives by eliminating intermediaries and providing deep on-chain liquidity.

How Does OpenPerps Work?

The protocol operates using a synthetic or automated market maker (AMM) model where trades are settled against a liquidity pool or a decentralized order book. It utilizes funding rates—periodic payments between long and short positions—to ensure the market price of the perpetual contract stays closely aligned with the underlying index price. Smart contracts manage the margin, liquidation, and settlement processes autonomously.

What Makes OpenPerps Unique?

OpenPerps distinguishes itself through its focus on low-latency execution and high capital efficiency. Key features often include a 'one-click' trading experience, support for a wide range of collateral types, and the integration of decentralized oracles for robust price feeds. It is designed to offer the speed of centralized exchanges while maintaining the security and self-custody benefits of DeFi.

Who Are the Founders of OpenPerps?

Specific public details regarding the individual founders of OpenPerps are currently limited in the broader public domain, as is common with many community-driven or emerging DeFi protocols. The project is generally attributed to a team of anonymous or pseudonymous developers with expertise in smart contract engineering, quantitative finance, and blockchain architecture.
